Friday Favorites: Black Girl Magic on the Cover of the New Yorker

Hello Meltingpot Readers,

Don’t you just feel great when the right people win? That’s how I felt this morning when I saw that a recent graduate of a local Philadelphia art school (college not high school) created the cover for this week’s New Yorker issue, which happens to be the coveted summer, fiction double-issue.

Loveis Wise only graduated from the University of the Arts in Philly two weeks ago, but her stunning cover graces The New Yorker this week. The cover gives me all the feels. Now I simply must pick up a copy of the magazine and I’ll probably frame the cover.

Read all about the lovely Loveis and her already red-hot career here. And remember you heard about her first here on My American Meltingpot!

Peace!
