Hi Meltingpot Readers,
What do you know about Louis C.K.? I admit I didn’t and still don’t know much except that he is a comedian, he has his own show on cable, and that even though he looks like a White American, he’s actually Mexican. I’ve read a few things about him here and there and always meant to look him up, but I haven’t. Until now.
To be honest, I didn’t really look him up, my friend just sent me a link to a story about him in Colorlines. That story is actually just a heads up that C.K. will soon be gracing the cover of Rolling Stone magazine and in that story he talks a lot about his Mexican roots. But the Colorlines piece also includes a clip of the comedian on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He had some really funny, yet incredibly insightful things to say about race in America. Check it out and then tell me if you’re a Louis C.K. fan and if you think I should be. I’m listening.

I love Louis C.K. He’s a really brilliant guy. His social observations are some the best I’ve heard. Like this recent “feminist rape joke” he told (search his name on New York magazine’s website and watch the video on the post they wrote about it).
Thanks, Rosella. I’ll check it out. And now that I know you like him, that’s like a ringing endorsement 🙂
