Hello Meltingpot Community,
Last week I unveiled my new podcast art. I love it! I hope you do too.
And while I would never say that my logo or brand art is more important than the content I am creating, I do want my logos and branding to accurately convey my message and my manifesto. I want people to know just by seeing my logo that here on the Meltingpot we celebrate diversity, all people are welcome and that I like to keep things colorful. Do you get all that from the new logo?
As a writer, I’m used to using words to get my message across, so I’m always amazed when artists can do the same thing visually.
The Meltingpot Mission and Manifesto
For anyone new to the Meltingpot and even for those who have been around for awhile, I want you to know that I do take my manifesto seriously and my mission for this blog really is to celebrate diversity and undo racism. I hope the posts I write here and the episodes I share on the podcast all work to educate and inspire other people on their journey to celebrate diversity and undo racism.
Here’s an example of a blog post I wrote about celebrating diversity. Here’s one that encourages people to undo racism.
Paying Attention to Passion and Purpose
These days I’m really working hard to lean into my mission and I’m thinking about ways to do this work even better because clearly the world needs this work more than ever before. But also, because I think of summer as a time to refresh and review and prepare for the new year that begins in September, I’m also thinking about ways to improve the Meltingpot.
Taking a Little Break in August
So, heads up, I’m not going to be posting here for the month of August because that is going to be my official time to review and reflect. And when I come back in September, I’ll be ready to get back into it, full of passion and purpose. But I’ll still be posting here for the rest of July, so stay tuned.
Also, if you have any suggestions on how to make the Meltingpot better, or requests for what you’d like to see more of here, please let me know. It will really help me during my period of reflection.
Peace!
